Slow days

Yo, the following days may be a bit slow around here... today I'm getting the finishing touches on my root canal treatment (which seems to have been of textbook example quality, thanks very much), and tomorrow and Friday (maybe more), I'm visited by a lovely lady from my old fatherland.

Update:
Notice the word "may". As in "possibly". I can't predict anything, and it goes easiest when I don't even try. But there seemed a likelihood that it might be noticeably slower, and I just wanted to prepare you, so you could stock up on DVDs and your favorite meds.

Ya right!!! I remember the last time you said something like, I'm not going to be posting..I need to stay off the computer.

I think that lasted about 3 hours.. :-)

Have a nice weekend.

I had a root canal a couple years ago...it was kinda cool. They drew up the cap on a CAD machine, then I could hear the machine milling the porcelain in the back. Not saying I enjoyed it, but it was interesting on some level. I hope yours goes as well!

Hang on. Were you not banging on just a few weeks ago about your visit to the dentist for a check-up, and telling us all how perfect your teeth were???
Or was that another Eolake? lol

Dental work isn't always about health. Sometimes it's about wealth.

Maybe he wants a "grille" like some rap artists -- gold teeth with embedded diamonds and rubies, perhaps.

Or maybe the dentist said, "Your teeth are perfect," meaning he could finally see how he'd buy the Porsche he'd had his eye on.

I think I said "good", not perfect. They are far from perfect. (I don't know if any human of earth has perfect teeth.)
In particular there's been one tooth which has been the deal spoiler for a couple of years, despite various treatments, and so last month my dentist asked me if we should let this go on or finally get a root canal at a specialist's. I went for the latter.

This blog has become my main source of information on Apple related events. And I suspect I am not the only one.

Now; if Eo takes a break from blogging, it will appear to Wall Street as if Apple R&D has somehow become crippled. And this will no doubt affect stock price.

Here's my question: when would be the most optimal moment for a PUT option? Supposedly Eo already had his root canal treatment by now. Is it too late because of that? Or is the visit from the Danish lady sufficient to still pull a winning play?

I had a root canal a few years ago...2 days before my wedding. Good times.

TTL, You have 17 minutes to make your move.

I had the main procedure three weeks ago. But to ensure nothing left undone, they only put in the permanent filling today.
Both times went well, and painfree, so I'm pleased, I know what nightmares some people have.

My teeth haven't given me a moment's trouble in the past 20 years - they're in their denture cup in the top drawer of the dresser, and that's where they're staying! Why? Because: I'm not planning on biting anyone, or being bitten by that smooth-talking dentist. There's never been a set of false teeth that could substitute for your real ones, and there probably never will be, no matter what you're told.

Our teeth are just one big clue that humans weren't divinely designed. Well, unless that designer was a bungler.

Don't get me started. (Procreation right in the waste department??)

I'm glad I got born after they instituted free half-year teeth checkups in Denmark.

I came late, but it seems it did not last. I see this "slow days", and then 3 other posts the same day. Hum.

Eolake Stobblehouse said...

Yeah. I shouldn't try to predict, for i really can't. If people suddenly send me good stuff, or I stumble over it, I post it. Of if thoughts grab me.

My motto for a couple of years now has been "let's see how it goes". It's the one that works.

Yeah, but for all this you need to be sitting beside the computer ! So you move first !

I supposed you had somebody visiting. :)

From tomorrow, yes.

But she'll be working on a book too, and in that time I'll try to do my usual stuff, praising Apple, complaining about Adobe, bitching about bluetooth, and such.

"But she'll be working on a book too."

Does this mean she's a 'bookie'?

Is she writing a book about 'Root Canals and Other Sights in Venice'?

I'm glad that dental floss came along and I was taught how to use that and to brush twice/day or I wouldn't have any teeth now (sorry to hear it, Ray!)! That wasn't something that I grew up knowing; neither did any of our forefathers. :-(

Man, that Turkey Kayne West just dropped a wad to get that kind of nonsense done! WEIRD!

Bet you were a lot of fun on your Honeymoon! :-( (I bet you've made up for it, since then! lol! :-)

I know someone who "swears" by their implants. But...if you've done without them, for a whopping 20 years, then I'll bet you'll do fine, from here on..."out." :-D

Actually...the "gift" of choice was what caused everything to go downhill, after that first bite. Why there are people who choose to always look at durn-near everything in a negative light, as well. ;-)

Apart from both times taking a long time (an hour), I had no trouble. No pain during or after, except minor soreness in the area for a couple of days after the first time. So I'm wonder if it's exaggerated, or if I'm just very lucky.

That is really good to hear, Eo. Oftentimes, I do think people tend to exaggerate when they're talking about going to the dentist...or dury duty or or whatever. It ain't all that bad; people just seem to tend to want to complain about any and everything. I guess they figure that it, at least, gives them some sort of attention; and...that is better than none. :-(

So...looking forward to hearing about your experience, Miserere...if you care to elaborate...about the RC, I mean! ;-)

Was just thinking about your RC situation, Eo: perhaps you didn't have much trouble because your situation might not have been as acute as most people's are, as they're hobbling themselves in to see a dentist after...a decade or whatnot! :-/ I don't think, as you mentioned, that people, who are getting check-ups every 6 months tend to have these sort of issues very often.

Good point. A guy I met once put his life in danger by being so afraid of dentists that an infected tooth had infected half his head, and it was all about burst into the rest of him. Ewwwwwwww.

So "Ewwwwwwww," alright! The preventative it so much less painful than...that!

I hope you're joking. I'm hoping that's what the ;-) at the end there was. If not, well... I could only pity someone that stupid.

I've heard this from a lot of old dudes and I'm sure it's true. I do have one implant to replace a tooth that was knocked out. There would have been no way to save it, and anyway after a week or two I stopped even noticing it. It's fixed in place so I don't have the chore of taking it in and out. It's been nearly six years and no problems.

That makes God even more of an asshole. God loves cruel and unusual punishments. Whot a psycho!
