Large Hadron Collider

Doesn't this thing look like something from a James Bond movie? Only more colorful, actually.
No, seriously: I like it, but if it had been designed for an SF movie, the producer would say: "no guys, you need to make it look like it's real. Not just lots of exciting shiny bits, shapes and colors."

Bah, it's only expected to bore deep into the fundamental secrets of the Universe, Life and Everything. I don't see what all the excitement is about. It couldn't even be aimed at Capitol Hill for some suspenseful and odious destruction blackmail.

Even if it DID manage, by some extraordinary stroke of luck, to create a tiny fluke black hole, it would evaporate before having the chance to consume even a speck of dust. Maybe too quickly to even be noticed! So not even a cool "mad science-caused End of the World" to hope for. (yawn)

What else is on TV? Hey, Bolivia is threatening the USA with "the world's third mightiest army®". Cool. Let's hop it's better written than that lame-o Russia stormtroops across free Europe last month, or that old retro Saddam will nuke us all a few years back.

Ooh! Ooh! Ooh! "Puppy saved from drowning", awesome! Awwww, he's so cute!

You're right, as a prop that is pretty cheesy looking. Joel Schumacher would love it.
