Laurie J found this cool video (about 9 minutes) about Vivian Maier, street photographer and nanny.
---
As a photographer she was clearly exceptional. Top notch street photography.
[Update: Kent found a blog about Vivian.]
As a nanny, some likened her to Mary Poppins, delightful etc.
(But... as a sidebar, to me Mary Poppins in the movie never seemed like a delightful person. She seemed cold and domineering. Is it just me?)

WOW, that's wonderful. What a story.
By the way EO, you must have watched a different version of Mary Poppins that I did. "She seemed cold and domineering"
No way!!
She totally was scary. Here's the trailer to refresh memory.
Exactly. "Beautiful, but deadly".
Saw the exhibit today...in a word stunning. Vivian clearly had a sense of humor. Some very clever self portraits and wonderful decisive moments captured by her. A true artist in every sense of the word.
Thanks, I'd love to see it. Where is it now?

Is this a different Kent from that not-so-lovable hick who used to show his ugly mug around here? It's probably a different guy. Other one's probably on Death Row by now.
Dave Nielsen gave us one version, now here's another slightly happier version.
Now, does she look mean?
Admittedly it's a long time since I saw it all.
But it's weird, I think Julie A is the sweetest and prettiest thing, but something about this character rubs me the wrong way. Guess it reminds me of my own dark side.
Very cool! I can imagine that to be quite something to see each new image. Fascinating!
I liked the Mary Poppins books, but hated what little I've seen of the movie. I just don't like musicals for some reason. They really irritate me.
Not my big thing either. But what I like less is Tim Burton's idea: musicals with puppets! I mean, that's just ridic.
