I pointed out to a dear friend that she was contradicting herself (about something important to us both), and she said “don’t look to me for consistency.”
I found that very funny.
Even more funny; even after a lot of learning about how all of us are really in two minds about everything, I *still* find myself puzzled whenever somebody is inconsistent.

Do I contradict myself?
Very well then I contradict myself,
(I am large, I contain multitudes.)

But don't call your friend large, she might not like it.
Good one David.
And she is doing martial arts, so caution may be adviced.
Striving for consistency leads to madness. Embrace the inconsistency, brah.
That’s probably wise.
Good to hear from you again.
Being of two minds is what is fueling the Confrontation Culture. Consider what might be possible if we trained ourselves to think like a starfish, with four or more "on the other hands" to work with, and in the patience to let a question
"season" rather than dispensing [cue reverb] "The Right Answer" in the twinkling of a tweet.
Definite food for thought, Ben!
