Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex

"Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex 1.5 TB USB 3.0 Ultra-Portable External Hard Drive"

"FreeAgent GoFlex"... are you kidding me? :-)

But what a sexy drive. 1.5TB portable too!?

(And you can get it down to 150 bucks, cheap if you ask me.)

(Thanks to Joe Kissell, tech writer, TidBITS.com.)

I see them on amazon.com, they may have them on amazon.co.uk too. (...yep.)

May pay you to do a little shopping about ... my local PC place (who ARE very competitive)offer a decent range: 1.5TB from £75, and 2TB from just £90 ... and they are big-name products!
I've got a current selection of seven(!) up to 2TB from a variety of manufacturers including Maxtor, Samsung, Buffalo, Western Digital ... and the Seagate FreeAgent.
The number grows as time passes, but FWIW, NONE of them seem to be any better / worse than the others in any respect that I'm aware of, and ALL get some regular hammering! ... if you can live with appearance (or hide it away somewhere!), I'd be tempted to be guided by price as much as anything else: software 'included' is usually superfluous, and inferior to independent stuff (or oftem simply available free from the manufacturers site).
The only thing I WOULD advise, strongly, is to get something other than USB2 / Firewire connections if at all possible ... both are way tedious at this sort of size ... eSATA is MUCH nicer :-)

Scan at Middlebrook have them, Eolake - perhaps Laurie would like to check their prices when they re-open after the holiday weekend - as they are just shown as "Call for Price" on the website.
