Although... the rangefinder, while interesting, would be no replacement for a reasonably-priced full frame SLR. Not for me and not for Nikon's sales. Would be cool though, if it were to be both compact and fast in autofocus.

You're right. There have been many pranks of this kind in recent times. So it could be all made up. But it doesn't sound all that implausible either. I guess the only way to know for sure is to wait and see.

The bit that the rangefinder would use such obscure lenses seems unlikely.
I hope the part about monochrome sensors is true. (They would be much more sensitive.) And the high-ISO 6MP sensor.
