Sometimes I'm an Early Adopter, sometimes not. I've not seen any 3D technology/movies which really worked for me, so I'm not overly eager for that. On the other hand, it might be great for some movies.
So I've made this decision: I will get a 3D TV when My Dinner With André is released in that format.

On the Simpsons they had a My Dinner with Andre video game that Martin played.
My Dinner with Andre was, surprisingly, good. Many people wouldn't think so, but I was surprised by how much I liked it.
Yeah, I quite liked it.
It's become cinema's most recent trope/cliché : "If you can't make a good film, make it 3-D" (i.e., sell it through cheap novelty artifice alone).
The public is wiser than that. They've already become automatically wary of a movie that says "3-D".
And yet, I plan to precisely go to a theater and watch Tintin in 3-D. I figure if there's just one film I'm going to watch every 10 years, and I want to check out all that 3-D hubbub, this one's the best choice.
I mean, since I missed out on Avatar. ;-)
To-do list :
- Sort out my entire appartment
- Update my blog
- Start watching my 200+ DVDs
- Find a fiancée that doesn't hate everything I like
