Many photographers like me are very thankful for the amazing performance of the Canon full-frame camera 5D, and the 5D2. Compared to most full-framers, it's compact-ish and not too expensive, and the quality and low-light performance is just wonderful. Well better than any reduced-frame camera (which is pretty much any affordable DSLR).
We are approaching the time when we might expect a replacement soon.
My prayer is:
Dear Canon, please don't play the megapixel game anymore. 22 megapixels are plenty for a 35mm-sized camera, really. Instead, use your resources for even better low-light performance in the Canon 5D Mark III. If you can beat the Nikon D3s in this respect, you'll be king of the hill. Thanks for listening.
I might be a bit ahead of times. The 5D2 is two years old now. The Mark 1 lasted three years. But that's a long time in the digital market.

As Seinfeld would say, "Enough already with the megapixels." Beyond the 21 available in the 5D2, all I'll get is more external hard drives to store giant files. What I can't get enough of is ISO...increased dynamic range, better low light, better action capability. More pixels are heavy metal rock, ISO is a symphony.
I shot the 5D2 mostly at the sRAW (9.9 MP) setting while I had it...I still got the wide angles I wanted, but with manageable file sizes. I know some would say that's a waste, but I don't need 21 MP very often. I shot a few landscapes at full resolution, and some portraits for a friend, but that was about it.
@emptyspaces: LOVE your work! I looked through your entire gallery! Wow! Too many favorites to count! :-D I think that this one is GORGEOUS! Anything w/animals, water, and a beautiful sky...
Sure curious how you did this! I'm guessing PhotoShop or something, afterward?
Your moon shot is AMAZING; your night shot SO COOL! A very beautiful spot.
Sweet family (including "the sisters" ;-) and travel pics. Love your bike, too! :-)
See?! Told you: "too many favorites to count!" :-D Excellent work!
@tcgirl...Thanks!
The one you're asking about is indeed a Photoshop project. It's where you select an object (or objects) in a photo, create a separate layer for them, and then turn the rest of the photo into a B&W. It's a little painstaking, so I don't do them too often, but that particular orange tree is a favorite of mine - it's right near where I work, and I go down and photograph it each year.
Thanks again for looking around! Snapping photos is one of my favorite things to do.

You're welcome. :-)
I'll have to try that w/[that free software that works similar to PhotoShop which escapes me, right now] and see if I can do something similar. That tree is pretty radiant in it's autumn glory! :-D
"Thanks again for looking around!"
It was fun! Thanks for sharing! :-)

It shows! Mine, too! Just wish I could dedicate more time to it! Someday! :-)
Eo: this just in!
Funny, I was just thinking of when the big replacements might come.
Though sadly for me, this is one of really big ones, way to heavy for me.
Doubtlessly it's awesome of course. But I'm waiting for the 5D mark III.
(Or for Nikon to finally realize that there's a great market for a smaller full frame camera.)
