i couldn´t sit still for the length of such a film. but: i´m trying to download "Out of Africa" from my cable tv provider. this film (opus) is my alltime favourite.
A porn version of Avatar might be interesting, though. If you could make it with the same quality of effects, I bet it would be popular with all the nerds who want to do one of those blue chicks.
For me, an indicator of a "good" book is, that I like to take it again and again, open it somewhere and find some new interesting details, triggering new insights or fresh aesthetic enjoyment or something like that.
The same happens for me with this movie. I don't recall how often I have looked into that movie (I own a DVD) - right now, short before this posting, I have proved it again for me, enjoying a subtle play of eye contacts in a certain scene.
As far as I can see, the underlying main theme is transformation, leading unevitably to the one and only big question: Who am I? Who am I REALLY? This movie gives a big impact for the actual change of paradigm and for the evolution of consciousness so much needed right now, especially for "concrete heads" usually not thinking about this.
Existence does it right in a mysterious way to create and to release such a movie right now, and I'm very thankful to the team who has created this masterpiece, a masterpiece on many levels including the fact, that it is visually impressing and therefore a commercial success, too.
O.k., its just me. Nobody has to agree with me. I'm just talking about my subjective experience, and about the experiences talking with others about this really GREAT movie, having so many subtle layers behind the action surface ...

Probably. You usually appear to be on a differnt wavelength to most other people.
Maybe the porn version would suit you better?
Doubtful. Just something with interesting characters.
And while they spend half a billion dollars on computer effects, they might have used some of it to get some interesting designs.

For me, porn in itself usually gets boring very quickly, or is it from the start. But I wouldn't mind seeing them nekkid.
If this friggin culture can push past puritanism, we could get some interesting nudie films with CG as it develops.
For an example of how having nudity and even real sex in a movie doesn't necessarily make it porn, take a look at Shortbus:
