As for the performance, it is many things, on so many levels, including art. Would it be only as a great comedic performance, a parody of opera singing.
I know this piece. I thought it was by Rossini, but Wiki says it is composed by someone else even though it is from Othello, a Rossini Opera. So, apparently Rossini used someone else's bit here.
Rossini is a brilliant composer, though overall a bit too light for my taste.
I think this piece might also be in Cats, the musical, but I'm not sure.

Rossini is among the most saccharine and light-hearted major composers of the Romantic period. His music rarely has anything close to the level of conflict or darkness of even someone like, say, Mozart or Tchaikovsky. And that's sayin' something. :)

It is a song without words. Reminds me of some of the heavy metal songs.
Have no idea what the lyrics are but love them anyway.
