House on the rock

[Thanks to Kirk]
Imagine trying to build this place! There's no place for trucks or cranes or materials!
And it's not small either. Three stories, twenty-three rooms.

Must be a cool place to have, but I don't know how practical it would be for living. You need the boat every time you want your mail or fresh milk.

First though was 'I want it' :-) Fishin' all day (probably from a bedroom window if necessary!) ... then I looked closer at the pictures, and realised how little clearance there is between water level and the building ... not too sure that I'd like to be there through a heavy storm, say, or even a decent tide (which routinely goes up and down, twice a day, through a 5 metre difference around here ... makes fishing 'interesting!)
There again, perhaps the waters around there are as tranquil as the proverbial millpond?

And on a different note, WHY does the spell-check on here offer me 'American' Enlish instead of English???
American Enlish ... is that not a little like referring to 'German French' etc? :-)
OK. peeve over!

I'd love this place, although I'd loveit more if it was a little further out so that I couldn't even see the mainland. I wouldn't waste my time there fishing, though.

No, not really. I guess you're joking (though some people believe that a joke to be a joke should be patently obvious to all and sundry), but since there are different varieties of a language, the German equivalent would be "Swiss German" or "Austrian German" as opposed to the standard "High German." Or in French, the difference between what is spoken in France as opposed to that spoken in Quebec.

Looks like something straight out of Myst... all that's missing is a steampunkish roller-coaster-like ride to the mainland. ;-)
