Tattoos

A very nice nude of a tattoo'd Asian girl. (Photo by Shiroi Kaze.)
Most of the time tattoos just ruin a model. But then some are artistically done. (Getting one of this size done must have taken some brass cohones.)

What to do? Kiss it or frame it?

I'd still prefer her sans tattoo.

And several appointments by the look of it!
Isn't it strange how some of us do something once (ie. getting just one tattoo) and others seem to get addicted and keep going back for more!

I would, personally, like the idea of having some dude who could spray (or hand paint) one on my back (and other areas! lol!)...that I could wash off and change, whenever I wanted. Oh and...the *excuse* for the dude to *doodle* on my body...again...and again! That would be nice! ;-)

what would Jesus say about that tc? He woldn't approve.

I suspect the anti-sexuality of the major religions has been added later by the churches, not the people in whose names they ostensibly are run.

Hear! Hear!
If I remember correctly Jesus wasn't particularly concerned what people looked like. Nor, come to think of it, what religion they were!

There's no way to know but based on what as a Jew he would have been required to believe his view of sexuality would be appalling to most people today.

Forgot to say that it is a really nice tat, though. I just like to change things up, every once in awhile; hence the other idea...besides supporting *the arts*. :-) It would probably feel really nice to have someone painting on a person's body...rather than having all that ink being injected! Ouch! It would probably be a really sensual experience...for both involved. :-)

I like the idea of non-permanent bodypainting rather than permanent tattoo. Any image I chose i'd get bored of eventually, even if it's one as nice as this.

Eolake Stobblehouse said...

Yes, the problem is the permance.

Try finding a non-tattoo'ed model in, say, Seattle. A female one, I mean, it seems the gender thing has changed.

Anonymous said...

Even though the tattoo is pretty and the model beautiful, I too am bothered by the permanance of tattoos.

Another bug however, one of my pet peeves is the marks from her clothes still showing in her skin. A Beautifully posed and lit image like this is ruined by little details like that. Would it hurt that much to have her get into a soft robe for half and hour before the shooting starts?

Some people might like that, the idea that she's only just got undressed. Makes it more spontaneous, less a set piece.

Ray,
Why not do both?
"She's not made of sugar, you know."
Oh, how I find it sad to make beautiful art out of chocolate, so easy to shape but so intrinsically ephemeral!
I'm always torn between the urge to bite in it, the desire to keep it beautiful, and the knowledge that even if I don't touch it, it will soon spoil anyway. Ah, Tantalus, thy torture is mightieth indeed!

Eo, I suppose by "brass cojones" you meant for the woman getting this done on herself.
Yeah, she's no girlie wuss, that's for sure.
But still, I wouldn't swear that she's Yakuza, like a real-life Elektra.
The tatto's not graphically violent enough for a Yakuza. :-)

TC,
Good idea. Paint is neither pain(t)ful nor permanent. Lets you decide on a calm mind whether you want to stay that way and endure for it.
And as for "the excuse"... woman, I like the way you think! :-)

Anonymous preached...
"what would Jesus say about that tc?"

LOL! Good one!
Wait-wait-wait, I have a better one:
"What would Jesus say about gynaecologists?" :-D

That's odd, I don't recall the four Gospels saying anything about a negative attitude towards nudity OR sexuality, coming from Jesus of Nazareth himself.
He barely gave a criticism in private to an adulterous woman. That's not frowning on sex itself, but on misuse of it; perhaps she was even married, or did it with a married man. There were no clear details, apart that she should "sin no more".
Heck, maybe what he meant to these guys about "being without fault" was that she might have been a hooker, but many of them hypocrites had been her clients! Quite possible...

And, he himself WAS baptised naked. Not to mention his execution. Nobody ever said anything about him being granted a loincloth.
Would've gone against the humiliating intention of the execution, starting with its very nature. Crucifixion was a most demeaning form of execution. This is why, that day, he was in the company of two common thieves.

Your suspicion is right, Eolake. I'll be e-mailing you a few proofs of very official (and classic) religious nudity art.
Stuff I'd be better advised not to post on my own Lebanon-based blog!!!

BaronessBlack added...
"Nor, come to think of it, what religion they were!"

Tell me the truth, Baroness: you're not really an evil Kobra operative, now, are you? ;-)
Well spotted, BTW. See the Cananean woman's episode: [Matthew 15: 21-28]
Which happened in my very own country! (proud)
Or the centurion: [Matthew 8: 5-13]
"Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel."

Anon 2 suggested...
"There's no way to know but based on what as a Jew he would have been required to believe his view of sexuality would be appalling to most people today."

What about what the OFFICIAL texts from the Church reveal to us about how laid back and understanding he was in so many matters?
Becides, I believe the guy was executed precisely for breaking a jewish tradition too many. Like Saturday work. Washing hands. All those episodes where "the Pharisians came unto him with embarrassing trick questions"...

Ooh yes, I'm convinced I know quite enough about the mentality of Jesus.
More than the Church(es) would like me to...

TC,
If you're really interested in body painting, just inquire about naturist gatherings near where you live. They often have bodypainting artists there, and some very talented ones at that.
Some could easily paint you to look like you're actually clothed. :-)
But as for "sensual experience"... I just hope you're not too ticklish under a paintbrush!

Ian S frowned...
"one of my pet peeves is the marks from her clothes still showing in her skin."

I second that!
One of the Domai newsletters told about a woman who had a nude portrait of her done for her husband. Or maybe a photoshoot.
The photographer instructed her to be all groomed and ready previously to their meeting time, and to be wearing nothing but a loosely tied bathrobe (nightgown?) for at least the last 15 minutes, so all clothes marks would have gone before the shooting started.

Anon 3 visualised with a dreamy smile...
"Some people might like that, the idea that she's only just got undressed."

For erotica, sure.
For art/beauty images, less so.
Depends on your perspective...

I think in the present case the marks on the woman's bottocks are not from her clothes, but just from previously sitting on fabric folds (naybe those of her loose robe). Notice, no panties marks at the waist, no bra marks above either.
She's "simply naked" enough for me. :-)

Eolake Stobblehouse said...

The only mark I see is from a bra, on the left flank just under the big shadow. It would easily have been removed in Photoshop.

Anonymous said...

That's odd, I don't recall the four Gospels saying anything about a negative attitude towards nudity OR sexuality, coming from Jesus of Nazareth himself.Jesus said that if you were married and you just looked at another woman you had committed adultery in your heart. And, get this, the thought is considered as bad as the deed (basically meaning that if you think about doing something sinful, you might as well do it). Sounds crazy, right? And, not the least laid back. I'm not sure if he cared if you were single or not, but knowing him it was probably still a bad idea.

Like, for instance: I'm sorry but...would this look very sexy showing through a sheer bodiced dress at, say, a formal wedding or...nice dinner party? Uh...I don't think so! The first impression of anyone that meets this woman. Will be that she lacks good judgement.

Try getting a position of responsibility in a business, meeting the teacher of your child or just meeting people at a party.

Just a question.

If a female is wearing a swim suit. She is considered clothed.

If she is wearing thick body paint is she considered nude? They both seem to give about the same coverage.

Yeah, Joe. I would say that is clothed...if all *private parts* are covered. :-)

"If she is wearing thick body paint is she considered nude? They both seem to give about the same coverage."

I would say not entirely. If a mini-bikini bottom could be used...for *the bottom* then I would consider that *adequate* to qualify for *proper* "coverage".

What do you think? :-)

Pascal [P-04referent] said...

"Jesus said that if you were married and you just looked at another woman you had committed adultery in your heart."

- Firstly, this says nothing about nudity, I insist on that point. The guy was himself baptised naked, in front of a broad public, and it wasn't the least bit an official jewish baptism ceremony, either. If that's not an exemplary case of innocent nudity, then I don't know what is...

- Secondly, he said "look at her with LUST". What he meant, is that if you have a sexual fantasy about a woman, it's the same as actual sex, MORALLY. In other words: it's the thought that counts, literally, and sin is in the intention.

- Tertio, you Western people keep forgetting how often IMAGES were used, with one expression actually meaning something that can't be said crudely. "Uncover someone's nudity" = euphemism for "fornicate". "Look at *** with lust" probably refers to the 9th Commandment, "decided intent of doing adultery".

- Fourthwise, the definition of "adultery" is VERY blurry and subjective. To some, it's merely when one of the persons involved is married, therefore committed to fidelity. To others, if you sleep with your fiancée half an hour before your wedding, you'll both burn in Hell for all eternity!!!!!! You heard that?!?
- What?
- YOU HEARD THAT?
- WHAT??!?- N°5, how many times did Jesus deliberately say one thing to actually get to the opposite conclusion? It's called sarcasm, guys and pharisees. If your son falls in the well on Saturday, do you wait til the next day to launch the rescue?

- Sixly, J. never actually said that HE viewed sex as foul, not even adultery itself in fact. Or did he? Got an explicit reference?

- Seven, case in point: "let he among you who is without sin cast the first stone". Translation: "everybody does it, and you all darn well know it, you lynchmobbing hypocrites!" Still a bloody relevant remark in our days of church pedophilia scandals, where it's not only about sex/adultery, but about RAPE. Talk about the mote and the beam...
[BTW, the "mote" was actually a straw, in the original texts. King James hadeth a very personal view of literary accuracy...]

My conclusion: if Jesus mentions so many instances of "technical adultery", such as marrying a divorcée, maybe he was subtly hinting to his highly uptight epoch that adultery isn't such a big deal after all, only betrayal of marital love is. And rape, of course.
Just another of my trademark dumb hypotheses...
Please forgive me if I have sinned with presumption there. ;-)

Besides, in any of the three Monotheisms, sex can only have been created by God. So how can it be intrinsically evil? Same for the human form, or even the contents of our bowels. Puh-leeze. It all depends on what you do with it, d'uh!
Any good Christian wanting to say one bad word about sexuality better remember how (s)he was born.
In fact, there too, same can be said about nudity, AND very often about the contents of our bowels. Check meconium on some search engine...

"but knowing him it was probably still a bad idea."
What, now you know a guy who lived 2000 years ago and whose message was interpreted and twisted by dubious interests for all that time? What are you, smarter than the Pope?
Granted, smarter than THIS Pope isn't much of a challenge. ):-P
Everybody who claims to understand religion is actually just viewing it, and its vastly open interpretation, through the prism of their own intrinsic views. Me, I'm being straightforward about it. Never claimed it WAS the truth, just said "this is how I view/understand it".
Some muslims insist that theirs is a religion of love and respect, and are sincere about it. Others, like Saint Osama, affirm that all it says, and with no ambiguity (liar!), is "go kill anyone remotely different".
I've read some of the Koran. Quite enough to testify that it's more than ambiguous: often downright contradictory! (Which itself is explained in the verse "what, is Allah not free to change His mind?".)

So, anybody using the Bible/Gospel as an alibi for "I know the One Truth" is one I call a blasphemating liar. For that's PROVEN to be a false assertion. Jeez, I'm SO weary about all those so-called "enlightened" argumentations everywhere I look around me. How about we have ourselves a nice holy war every time, and whoever is left standing gets to be right? :-P

BTW, "what would Jesus say" about tattoos? Are they kosher? Oy vey, what a headache!

"The first impression of anyone that meets this woman. Will be that she lacks good judgement."
Un-unh. That heart piece is very interesting anatomically, and rather wonderfully gothic.
"Good judgement" is literally as arbitrary as saying "I (don't) like it".

Just remember what were the social standards in a very recent past. When rock 'n' roll was assured to turn all our fine youths into foaming psycho killer rapists with poor dress sense. (Oh, the horror!)

"Goes to prove that men are not the only ones who are...always *thinking*!"
"Us men" are just more honest about it. ;-)

"I'll put that on my *bucket list*...and hope to get up the nerve, someday!"
"Bucket list"??? Never heard that one before.
Why "HOPE to get up the nerve"? If I had the abs I wish, instead of those I'm pretending not to not have, I wouldn't need any nerve.
I'm essentially shy about not looking good. I'm sure the Dickster will back me up on that one, that's what he always says about nudism. :-)

"I might have to work on my sensitivity threshold."
Here's my method: I play with the kids, and pretend I'm NOT ticklish. If I manage to convince them, then I'm homebound.
Or rather, beachbound for some good painting.
Still, tickling can ALSO be a very sensual experience. Anti-sadomaso can be quite enjoyable too...

To answer your question, TC, here's what I think:
How come at the beach, as long as the genitals are covered -with more than your hand- you're "clothed", and in other instances, being in your undies and socks is "undressed", and sometimes totally "shocking"?
Double standards from Society, methinks.

BTW, do they have (un)dressing cabins at nude resorts? I think they very officially do.
Amazing, how nudity is less problematic than undressing...

This was more along what I had in mind. Was curious if body paint was an acceptable covering?

Pascal.... "they have (un)dressing cabins at nude resorts?"
My experience is that most will just undress at the car. When the clothes come off there is a definite attitude change for the better.

TC said.... "If a mini-bikini bottom could be used...for *the bottom* then I would consider that *adequate* to qualify for *proper* "coverage"."

I agree and think it should be adequate. Not sure what the letter of the law would say.

OK...if you say so, Pascal! I'll take your word for it! lol! ;0)

"How come at the beach, as long as the genitals are covered -with more than your hand- you're "clothed", and in other instances, being in your undies and socks is "undressed", and sometimes totally "shocking"?"

Uh...how about looking at the possibility that: it is *inappropriate* for that particular venue or occasion; that it might look out of place/context.

Picture yourself standing at the alter...looking deeply into the eyes of the beloved woman, that you are about to be married to...while standing there looking so handsome...[screech!!] in your underwear and socks?! WTF?! ("I KNOW I told YOU to go pick that suit up from the tuxedo place!" Grrr!)

"Double standards from Society, methinks."

No...I don't think so. I think it's more about *peer pressure*...that pesky thing that creeps into our lives all too early and continues to grow as we age!

The *shock* value is just the person who *dares* to walk their own walk; talk their own talk and doesn't give a shit what others around them thinks or says. That would be a wonderful and healthy way to live but..."shocking" sometimes because it would be *outside of the norm* for whatever situation that issue has become "shocking". Methinks...anyway. :-)

"BTW, do they have (un)dressing cabins at nude resorts? I think they very officially do.

Big airplanes are good for transportation. A small plane is where the real flying is.

You are in control, a part of the machine not sitting enclosed in a big box just along for the ride.

You asked about the plane. The name is "the other woman" . My wife chose it because I spend more time with the plane than I do with her.

Yes. I've actually been in a small plane and gotten *the fever*! lol! I'm a little bit of an aircraft nut...although I haven't made much of an effort to learn the names of some of the ones that I like. :-)

Flying over the Canadian Rockies in a small plane was quite the blast that I won't forget anytime soon. And...I've been in a 'Blackhawk' helicopter while I was in the military and have flown over magnificent *turquoise-colored* glaciers, in Alaska. I was also in a helicopter on Kauaii, over the gorgeous waterfall used in 'Fantasy Island' as well as the island's many other beautiful surroundings.

I've driven military vehicles into military cargo planes and find it fascinating how the dang thing can even get off the ground w/all of that weight onboard! Those boys are HUGE!! And...you have no idea how many times I have kicked myself for not having chosen the Air Force! lol!

I loved watching the 'Blue Angels' (looks like you guys just had them, in NC, Joe.) *do their thing* in San Francisco and have been inside the 'Spruce Goose'.

I *crave* getting into a plane like wanting to drive a stick shift, again! lol!

I watched 'Breaking the Waves' just the other day and was pleasantly surprised to see one of those massive helicopters that [I believe] was mentioned, awhile back, which can hold quite a load of people. I still need to find out if it is the one and the same type of heli but...I loved it! (Does anyone know the name of this helicopter? I can't seem to find any info. on it.)

Anyhow, so, yes...I can completely understand the name that your wife gave your plane and your *love* for her. :-) I understand that they do take quite a bit of time and expense so...I don't much expect it to be something that happens anytime in my near future but...it'll still go on my *bucket list*. :-)

I would bet that if you were in a group of ten people. You could look around and find at least one person who you would consider to be in poorer shape or less attractive than yourself.

So if you are not the best and not the worst then you are somewhere in the middle. That means you are just about average which is where most of fall.

If you get so *dressed up* for the beach you will have tan lines. That would ruin the idea of a good even tan ;-)

All you really need is a large brim hat and sunglasses.
