The record he set in 1967 for a streamlined motorcycle under 1,000ccs
was 183.58 MPH. Not bad on a bike that dated back to 1920.

Us bikers all seem to want to know how fast our bikes can go, or how fast we dare to ride them. On my 1985 Kawasaki Ninja 900, after it was sufficiently run-in, I found an
empty straight stretch of blacktop one evening, and got it up to 230 Km/hr (143 MPH) before common sense kicked in, and I decided to back it off. At that speed, the air
stream is a definite force to be dealt with, and the bike is airborne with every little bump.

I'd like to try something really fast on one of those salt flats.

Or maybe a motorway in Germany (no speed limit) might be more fun, in a Lambourgini or something.
