A cliche blonde

This one has been popular for a while, but I don't think I blogged it before.
I like:
"I listen to what you're saying, but I only hear what I want."

(Oh, isn't she lovely though.)

"Women don't really want to hear a man's opinion, they just want to hear their opinion in a deeper voice."

She is very lovely indeed. Just a little older, and the boy would have been incapacitated instead of gleeful :)

I tried to think of something juvenile and dirty to say like "she can visit my Budapest anytime" but couldn't come up with anything. I think I am losing it.

And not just pretty, but apart from being uneducated, she just seemed a very pleasant person, not the bitch young women sometimes are.

Well, that is southern charm. It seems to breed pleasant people. It breeds some other things too, but on a personal level some very nice, very personable people.

Hum. Quite a drastic comment from such a calm person :-)

I guess there are nice and not nice people in all categories, old or young, male or female... :-)

But I guess also that for the male population, the behaviour of young women stands higher in importance, and generates more attention and emotion... :-)

But what I wanted to write initially : Loved it !
I was born in Budapest. :-)

"Women don't really want to hear a man's opinion, they just want to hear their opinion in a deeper voice."

It's just the tip of the iceberg. I really recommend this book from Allen and Barbara Pease to any men interested in women and any women interested in men. (I would also recommend it for people with different interests :-)

Here is the title :

Why Men Don't Listen & Women Can't Read Maps

Thanks, Aniko, I am aware of the possibly discriminatory nature of my comment.

It's probably like you say. And perhaps my perception is colored by American movie, where the young bitch is a favorite type of character.

But I've also said that many young men are stupid, or at least act so.

Perhaps I'm just jealous of youth.

Maybe. You're the only one to know... :-)

But concerning stupidity, I do think it is not so much linked with age.

Maybe certain patterns it takes are more related with certain periods of life. For example a female may like to be manipulative, then she will be bitchy when she is young and make a hard life to her son's wife when she is elderly... It depends on the opportunity.

In this conviction I am profoundly influenced by the great french singer and song-writer Georges Brassens who made a deeply philosophical and good song. The main point: If you are stupid, you are stupid : Quand on est con, on est con !

ACK - in my experience stupidity is a very stable state of deeply sleeping nerves ... the german word "dumm" comes from "tumb" = "taub", which means you can't hear. No sensibility, which can take many forms. And, of course, differently for men and women ...

There is an offhand saying in Germany like in the song of Georges Brassens:
"Doof bleibt doof, da helfen keine Pillen ..."
translated:
Stupid is forever stupid, no pills will help ...

Another saying from Sufi tradition (as far as I remember) pointing at different states of stupidity resp. sensibility:
Some horses need to be whipped hardly, some horses need only to see the whip, and some horses need only to feel the shadow of a whip ...

I was wondering what would be the good translation for "con". It is the same as "dumm" or "doof" in german. "Stupid" sounds less direct, somehow more sophisticated, but maybe I am wrong.

She might be a redneck. I need to find some old Foxworthy.

I think they deliberatly pick people who are thicker than 5th graders (10-11) for that show.

Duh. And a smart kid.

@Aniko:

Other english words for the german word "dumm" or "doof":

thumb, silly, gormless, dull, dumb, oafish, asinine, foolish, and some more, but I don't know the different meanings in detail ...

Interestingly, I have written the german word "tumb" wrongly, it should have been "thumb" (or maybe both is possible), same as in English. (It is a "german" word of Middle Age, not contemporary.)

I guess you really learn the different shades of the meanings playing with the others when you are a kid... :-)

Thanks for the list !

@Aniko
"Thanks for the list !"

You are welcome ... I have simply used a dictionary (my English is not that perfect): "Lingopad", a freeware dictionary from TU Chemnitz (http://www.ego4u.de/de/lingopad), its quite good.

And, of course, learning a language as a kid is always the best ...

Dumb, but sexy. Almost the perfect woman.

Gawd, I dig her though.
