Three of my many favorite Kate Bush songs.
Them Heavy People:
Wuthering Heights:
The Dreaming:
And an interview from 1980, oh was she young (22):
It's another example of somebody's voice being very different when they sing. When she speaks, Kate sounds like just another young woman, when she sings her voice has an unbelievable richness and range.

You forgot England my leotard
Actually this was sung by Mel Smith and Pamela Stephenson.
Hmmm... not a bad parody. But pretty mean-spirited. Which would have been justified if Kate had not had such talent.
Another interview:

Lord, what a beauty.
Yeah, Not The Nine O'Clock News was like that, no mercy for anyone. You saw their Abba "super dooper" didn't you? They were more rodical than the other shows at the time, Two Ronnies, Dick Emery etc. Python were bizarre, and weren't shy of being educated. NtNOCN was more for the larger lout in us all.
Anyway, in that interview, what is Kate playing at the piano? It sounded like some of Aerial, but of course that interview was 20+ yrs ago.
I'm just queuing up all my old Kate Bush on media player now.
Yup, that is a cute VJ. Kates not bad looking either.
Interesting cover:

I thought the *fight scene* was kind of *fun* in *Them Heavy People*. lol!
Amazing how creative she was, already, at the age of that interview. Pretty aware, for that age, also, re: relationships. Wow!
If you get a chance, watch the "Live at the Hammersmith Odeon" video. Spectacular performance video.
Also, season 4 of Saturday Night Live was recently released (on NTSC DVD), and it has the December 9, 1978 American TV debut that changed so many lives, including my own. (She does "The Man With the Child in His Eyes," which is still my favorite Kate song, and "Them Heavy People.")
Thanks for the tip. Though I've been less than impressed with the "Best of SNL" DVDs I've bought, I'll get that season.
I actually bought the "Live at the Hammersmith Odeon" video/CD back in the nineties. Maybe I still have it around, but I can't really be arsed with VHS these days. Maybe it'll come on DVD.
