I sadly too often link loneliness, despair, and beauty. I see a gorgeous woman, and my first reaction is almost inevitably, "Why have I never had someone so wonderful close to me in my own life? Why must I be limited to fantasizing about her from a distance?"
It eats at me. The desire has such power over me, and yet I have so little opportunity to actually REALIZE that desire. It's not actually, therefore, the DESIRE itself that has the power, as much as the DESIRE FOR THE DESIRE. Weird. Painful. Lonely.
Ah, yes, it's called the mitral valve's main heartstring. Very musical when stimulated.
Final, two words: open up. "You know that you can." :-) Don't just skulk, next time think a happy thought to make you display that lovely smile of yours, and then go talk to the woman! We both know you can be charming.
Oh yeah, I'm totally charming. That's not the problem. The problem is that I'm not an abusive biker. I don't need to take charm lessons, I need some alpha-male pheromones exuding from my pores. The whole game of attracting women, with the come-here go-away signals, and the way they say X in order to see whether or not we know they really mean Y and therefore "understand" and all that crud?
Not something I can figure out. Life's too short. Loneliness is less painful than starvation. I'm too busy working for dinner.
Or, to put it differently: I haven't cured cancer or solved the problem of trans-warp space-time continuum paradoxes. Therefore I'm unlikely to get a date, I lack the mental acuity.
Are you sure that's the kind of woman you want to meet? Not my taste. I don't know about the proportion of shallow come-here-go-away women where you live, but if you're looking for more than transient fun, maybe you should view your charming self as a charming treasure hunter. The real gems are rare, but always worth the search. And you don't need to be a real-life Clue champ to find one. :-) The Truth can set you free. Be your true self, and seek a true woman. Leave the fakeness-fond actresses for the abusive bikers to fool themselves into hollow happiness together.
P.S.: Alpha-male pheromones exuding from one's pores are smelly!
Well, the "other kind" IS rare by definition. :-) So I guess you've learned something valuable today, eh? They do exist, I've met a select few. None available yet, alas.
You know, your wit and charm PLUS a good dose of optimism could make a very powerful combination of seduction. Now that you know what to look for. Now all you still need is a 7/11 that sells optimism by the gallon. ;-)
While you're at it, if you DO find such a store, be sure to send me the address. There's a fortune to be made selling this stuff in Lebanon, and the market could hardly be more ripe these days. :-/

And I keep thinking it's clogged arteries.
"In every man's heart there is a secret nerve that answers to the vibrations of loneliness and despair also."

Pascal: no, I don't "want" to meet that kind of woman. Did I have an option? I didn't know there WAS any other kind.
