I found a young snow owl freshly killed on the highway (it flew into a truck) and took it to a taxidermist and had it mounted on a branch much like this is sitting on. We had it for years, and the kids in the neighbourhood borrowed it to take to school for show and tell so often, it finally got really quite frazzle-assed, so I gave it to one of the kids to keep. We enjoyed it for years. When it was first found I checked its wingspan and it was about as much as I could spread my own arms wide, so these are no small birds.
Now, that's some effective camouflage!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! LOVE it! :-) Nice tree, too! lol! ;-)
