HILARIOUS! OMG that's SO FUNNY! I think I would have sat around ALL DAY, just to wait for the *Oh SHIT!* look to appear on someone's face and get a shot of that! lol! :-)
Hahaha ! I don't think it will. The van's four tiles wide, while the pillars are only 3.5 tiles appart. It might squeeze through thanks to the pillars being thinner at the end, but that would make a mess.
Actually the last time this made the round someone said that it wasn't as it looked as one of the posts was removable or some such. Still at first glance it does appear crazy.
Even before the wave of bombings that started in 2005.
There aren't 50 million ways of getting folks as undisciplined as the Lebanese from parking where they shouldn't (or just aren't allowed).
Oh. Okay, so maybe the truck stuck in the middle isn't something you see everyday, even in Lebanon. :-) Perhaps thanks to a removable pillar that's kept on its base with a padlock. You can tell there's experience...
I once saw a similar situation in a Mickey Mouse story. Big Pete and his tank on a safari, and a fragile rope bridge to cross. He had to take it apart, and carry it all, bit by bit, to laboriously reassemble it on the other side. "Now, where does this bolt go?..."

ReplyDeleteAhhh ... a very old one, Eolake ... but still one of my favourite 'funnies'. Rumour has it that this was in Ireland?
ReplyDeleteJudging by the width of the van I'd say it might actually fit through...which kind of defeats the purpose I guess

This hit my funny bone! I'd have loved to have been there!

ReplyDeleteA most common sight in Lebanon, such pillars.

ReplyDeleteBoth appear to be 3.5.
I wonder if, as they often do with these things, one of them is removable. I guess that would kind of spoil the joke.
