Ferris Bueller's Day Off
Update : From the commentary: A great number of the people singing and dancing were just the general public, showing up because they heard the music. It put Twist And Shout back on the hitlists, first Beatles song in years. Paul McCartney was a bit offended that they put horns in the song. (There were horns in the picture, so they figured they had to be heard.) John Hughes commentary is good. It's clear he puts an unusual amount of thought into his films, like deep understanding of what kinds of people the characters are. Some commentaries are mainly "this was the first day of shooting" and "that guy is the cameraman's uncle".
One of my favorite scenes from one of my favorite movies... I just haven't seen it in ages. :) Thanks, Eolake!
ReplyDeleteYes, I just rewatched it yesterday. One of the great flicks from the eighties. So full of brilliant little details.
ReplyDeleteA great movie, and a great concept! Taking the day totally OFF. We should do that more - all of us!
ReplyDeleteJust don't dump your dad's prize car over a cliff...
