Interview with a designer

Charlie Rose interviews Jony Ive, Apple head designer for 20 years. If you like insight into how sharp minds work, don't miss this.

  1. Another great find, Eolake. Thank you. Charlie Rose looks like he just stepped out of a bar after a hard night, but he does a great job of asking meaningful questions, and seems to 'get' the Apple way. And the confluence of values and behaviors that result in products that haven't been made before (for good reason!) almost make me willing to trade in my Android. But not quite. I enjoy my iPad, and what it does, it does quite well. But it feels very limiting next to my Windows PC and my Google phone. Back to the interview, though, to hear Jony talk about doing the right things just because they are the right things to do - we need more of that in this world.

  2. Yes, it also struck me how Rose has aged. Maybe partly because they were not in a studio with controllable lights, but in a bright conference room.
I hope we keep him long, because I think he is one of the world's best interviewers. He always knows his subject beyond the call of duty (many interviewers have no clue who they are talking to). He is sincerely interested in the persons and jobs he is talking about. And he knows how to pose interesting and understandable questions.
