Camera-phone with zoom

To be honest, I didn't really think anybody could fit a decent zoom lens into something anywhere near as thin as a phone. But the Galaxy K Zoom seems impressive, at least from this picture:


Damn, talk about folding!
So, another downside of camera phones is buckling.

    Just greatly increases the risk that occurs with compact zooms that the zoom will suffer a mechanical failure.

    In 12 years of using compact zooms I have never had a mechanical failure. If I were in the market for an expensive phone I would certainly consider this one, and it would probably replace my pocket camera for much of the time. As it is, I'm happy with my Moto G and a small Lumix compact at (probably) about half the price.

    The choices for the Universal Camera are proliferating every year. It's great.
    Especially since they are being combined with the take-everywhere camera too. The Sony RX100 for example: a true pocket camera, yet with a 3x zoom, very good low-light capabillity, and outstanding image quality. Ten years ago, you couldn't even get such a camera, at any price or size.
