Thanks to Bert to pointing out the new special offer on the Olympus E-PL1.
No, it's not the newest model, but 150 dollars is astoundingly cheap for a Micro Four Thirds camera. Heck, it's astoundingly cheap for any interchangeable-lens camera.
Here's the DPreview review of it.
'Lens not included' - but even the additional cost of a camera-with-lens, it looks like a deal. Is it about to be discointinued? Is Olympus going down the tubes?
ReplyDeleteI think Olympus is doing really well. But there are newer models in this line, so I would guess it's about to be discontinued, yes. Two years is about the lifetime of a medium-sized camera. (Less than a year for pocketcameras, three years for the big pro models.)
ReplyDeleteA great price, with a lot of interesting lenses available for the camera. Note that the E-PL2 and E-PL3 are already in production.
ReplyDeleteI am surprised that the E-PL1 is still around, but it shows up on the Olympus website as well as this Amazon listing.
