Steve Jobs RIP

Steve Jobs has uploaded to that big server in the Cloud. He will be missed.

  1. Too bad.

However, if there were anyone who'd have the desire, ability, and opportunity to actually upload himself, Steve would be a good bet. Maybe he is still around.

  3. Hard question. It's difficult to name anything else I'd rather be doing.

  4. Yeah, making money while sitting on your ass isn't something most people would want to give up.

  5. I thought this was very interesting; #4 being my favorite. :-D

  6. I found #8 most interesting. Quote:

In a book interview, Jobs called his experience with [LSD] "one of the two or three most important things I have done in my life." As Jobs himself has suggested, LSD may have contributed to the "think different" approach that still puts Apple's designs a head above the competition.

  7. Thanks for the link, will read.

I think drugs are dangerous, but so are cars. And from what I hear, nothing about LSD supports the intensity of the paranoia about it and the war against it from the authorities.

You're welcome. It was really quite nice to get to know more about him; just too bad it was after he had passed. It might have allowed peeps to cut him some slack...knowing that his background wasn't all "silver spoons."

I will look forward to reading the biography as I do find his genius quite fascinating...as I always do. :-) Had to laugh re: the bonus; what a guy! lol!

  9. The last American who sometimes knew what he was doing. He had his share of failures too.

  10. Yeah, I don't think there are any exceptions to that amongst humans.

  11. His failures sometimes weren't his fault, they were just stuff a little too far ahead of their time, and he learned from them.

Apple III was kind of a shame, or we could all be using them today instead of PCs dominating.

  12. Here's a short article re: Steve Jobs' 'Seven Rules of Success.' (He did "alright" for himself, guys; don't you think?! :-D

  13. That's pretty good.

Yeah, I doubt very many would deny that he did "pretty good for himself", and maybe even for many others too (there'll always be doubters about anything you can't put a direct number on, that's the only reason I put "maybe" on that one).

haha, reminds me of some film, a guy is talking about how great philosophers usually die broke, and lists some of them, and includes L R Hubbard, and then pauses and says: "actually, Hubbard did pretty good for himself"... Funny.

    Yeah. I thought so. :-)

Yes; hence, why I wrote it w/tongue in cheek! ;-) And...exactly that: there will NEVER be a way to "harness" the WEALTH of technology that this dude (and his employees, of course! :-) "unleashed" on us, throughout Apple's history! And...no telling how long this Tsunami wave will ride, either! Now, there's what you would call a "legacy!" :-D

That is! D'ya remember what movie? If you don't, now, please let me know, when you do remember it. :-) B'sides...(I was going to say that I bet that there must be some financially successful Philosophers and then thought to inquire of my new "best friend:" Google:) Walter Russell (and here.) seems to have be such a man...and also has a GOB of books he wrote! Cool!
