About the only thing that comes to us without effort is old age.

That's funny. And further, not even old age is effortless, because you have to survive to attain it! This is no mean feat. So many of the people I knew when I was younger are dead now, many of them well before they reached old age.
You don't really have to do anything to survive that long, though. It's more what not to do like climbing mountains, jumping out of airplanes, smoking, excessive drinking, etc.

Hehe, doubtlessly.
ReplyDeleteGood quotes, from Ray.
ReplyDeleteIn my own experience ... You know you're Old when you find yourself beyond the range of something you think you should qualify for. Like: insurance, driving privileges, survey groups, travel groups... It is the regions where you want to scream AGEISM!!!!
I've even had it, believe it or not, from an editor of a Seniors publication who refused to review my book because "Seniors couldn't relate to the way you've traveled."
Haha, you have "priced yourself out of the market".
ReplyDeleteWrite about Bingo.
"Seniors couldn't relate to the way you've traveled."
ReplyDeleteDoesn't that mean the opposite, that you are too young?
