I can't believe these guys. I think they are really Peter Parker and Matt Murdock.
Not the least the jumps from 1:09 to 1:14. Man, even at fifteen I would have killed myself just thinking about it. How the hell does he land so precisely?
And how do they not break all their bones learning how to do this?
Update:
Philocalist rightly point out that, as often, by clicking on the youtube logo you can see it in HD if your machine and connection can handle it.
Impressive! ... but for the full effect, try viewing it through uTube ... its available as fullscreen HD (if your connection will hack it!) ... 1920 x 1080 pixels!
ReplyDeleteRuns even better if you download the file first :-)
Had any of us heard of Parcour or thought of free running 5 years ago? I'm trying to think when it crept into cinema, and at what level. The first without wire stuff I saw was District B13, but most people didn't see this until Casino Royale did they? Of course Vertigo has a rooftop chase, and the Sweeney and Starsky and Hutch had a lot of leaping over walls, but...
ReplyDeleteThere's people in large cities like Chicago and NYC that do this stuff all day long.
ReplyDeleteI certainly wouldn't do it, but these urban athlete's time is limited. Impressive, but they can't do that forever, otherwise the Humpty Dumpty syndrome will strike them one day.
These two guys would make great burglars. Find an open window, get it, grab something of value, and then get back out and be having a drink in a pub by the time the cops are even aware.
ReplyDeleteI love this one.

You have some choices to make, makes you feel like you were running and jumping yourself.
And I think in the video you feature the guys are great, but the music somehow makes it too funny, undramatic. In this Livewire and Damien Walters stuff, there is no music, just the wind and the sound of the shoes.
Royce,
ReplyDeleteMy ex landlady's daughter's apartment was robbed by two gypsy boys doing something like this, they ran away on a balcony which is on the fourth floor, jumped over a gate (with sharp spearpoints on top) and then ran away on the roof. Luckily they didn't take anything.
