There are rumors now for both of the two giants, Nikon and Canon, that they finally will both make a play to counter the successful Micro Four Thirds cameras, which have exchangeable lenses but no mirror, and are more compact than DSLRs.
The rumors say that the Nikon will be mirrorless, but the Canon not. In any case, I'll look on with interest.
