Argument on this one. There are always people whining about how things aren't as good as they used to, how civilization is coming to and end. Mill died about 130 years ago. The world hasn't descended into anarchy yet.

ReplyDeleteThat's a good point. Danger is often overstated.
ReplyDeleteAlthough actually I think the danger he postulated was not anarchy or the end of the world, but rather conformity and boredom.
