Something was pointed out about one of my new favorite TV shows, The Big Bang Theory:
Pretty much all the characters are good folk, they are innocents. They are not nasty and scheeming and underhanded characters, like it feels like all adults film/TV characters usually are. It very refreshing, and very pleasant. And it proves that comedy does not have to come from nastiness. I just really enjoy this show.
Also Kaley Cuoco is hot as hell... :D No but really, we love the show also.
ReplyDeleteYes, the little blonde is very cute.
ReplyDeleteTBBT indeed!
Like a screendoor in a hurricane...
Found your blog through your YouTube vid of April Bowlby and her toes. Was impressed that you saw her comedic chops in addition to her other considerable assets. :) Like your thought on TBBT, too, so thought I'd start reading. Didn't see a feed, so I went to Feedburner and created one: http://feeds.feedburner.com/ EolakeStobblehouseThoughts
ReplyDeleteI had not even started to learn their names! So it's Kaley Cuoco is it. Yes, she is really attractive, both as a female and as a human.
ReplyDelete(Robb, what do you mean by TBBT?)
Esri,
Thank you!
I don't know, what's a Feed? Is it different from RSS?
What kind of applications and devices do you use it on?
Can you explain what this is in a couple hundred words so I can post it to my readers?
Blogged feed here.
ReplyDeleteTBBT = The Big Bang Theory. Luv the double entendre. ;O)
ReplyDelete"The Big Bang Theory" is a double entendre? Didn't realise it. Wait til all those fancy scientists hear that.
ReplyDeleteEven my retarded cousin Ephraim got that one, Dissonance. In about two seconds. And it's not funny.
ReplyDeleteI watched a few of these. I agree the charactors are nicer than on a lot of other shows. But none of them think. They use their emotions and not their brains. There is no reason to think that the two guys are particularly smart.
ReplyDeleteIn the USA, this is a requirement for mainstream TV shows. Every show must make those who watch it use their emotions instead of their minds. Advertisers have a much easier time influencing people by their emotions than their minds, and advertisers pay for TV shows.
The humor stems from the fact that these characters are brilliant in their chosen fields but hopeless (to different degrees) outside them. The appeal of Sheldon in particular is due to the fact that much of what he does is from irrational compulsion but he is also someone who could if pressed rationalize his irrational decisions to the point that the others, to quote Leonard, find it easier to just knuckle under.
ReplyDeleteYes. It's very interesting how nobody is rational at all, and yet many of us, to varying degrees, will totally convince ourselves that it is fully rational. And be very upset if others are not "rational" in the same way we are.
