Saturn's Rings to Disappear Tuesday

Saturn's Rings to Disappear Tuesday, article.
Only ten meters thick! Astonishing.

  1. Given the size of the planet, and the typical astronomical scales, yes, it IS pretty amazing.
Then again, maybe it's this thin precisely because it's a big planet. Maybe the strong gravitational field doesn't allow much straying from the equilibrium orbit plane.

Saturn also has another incredible feature: two of its moons actually keep swapping their orbits. Check Wikipedia for details.
