A cold

Man, I have the worst cold I've had since I can remember. When I woke up this morning (after noon), and caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror, I almost fell backwards into the bath tub. I could play 3rd Zombie in Day Of The Living Dead without make-up. [Update ten hours later: it seems to be easing off already. Zippidy.]
And I need one of these:

Well, I'm doing the basics, fluids, vitamins, rest.

Another couple of fun Japanese inventions.
The butter stick really tickles my funny bone.

At first I thought this was for the toddler's protection, and a neat idea:

But heck, I guess they can pitch in with the housework too.

Update: Magnetic Mary points out this kind of "unuseless" invention has a name: Chindogu.

  1. The toilet paper over the head holder might be very useful. Whether it's the 'stuff in the air' or just allergies, this might be a great accessory.

Building in an MP3 player and a solar panel to charge it might make it high-tech enough to give it worldwide appeal to the consumers.

  2. Hehe, yeah. An iPod nano with a few hypnosis tapes to help the cold.

  3. Floor cleaning toddler - such a gooooood idea, making this bundle of a nuisance also useful right from the start.

Hehe, the toilet paper reservoir is my idea! Thank goodness I seem to know all germs, at this time of age I rarely catch a cold (never shaking hands with sniffing apes).

  4. I had a bad cold a couple weeks ago and still have a bit of a cough. When it comes to getting sick I have a kind of pon farr thing going on - I only get sick every few years but when I do it's a doozy.

  6. Well, obviously the outdoors model will need a little umbrella too.

  7. You can already get those umbrella hats, they just need to merge the two.

  8. Oh, the fine art of Chindogu. I have a book about those somewhere...

  9. How interesting yet totally fortuitous that pon farr is the anagram of "far porn".
