A reasonable request! lol! I bet that he would like a *Mommy* and brothers and sisters, someday, though; then there would be an ENDLESS SUPPLY of TOYS...and someone to play with, too! :-)
Ahhh:-) That pushes SO many buttons for me ... and my daughter was 26 years old at the time! (Though in fairness, it had been an on-going theme over the years while I raised her, as a single parent) The real 'bombshell' was when I told her (shortly after she married a great guy) that she was going to have a baby brother / sister :-)
As usual, the logic of little children is iron-clad. :-)
BTW, I always ask. At the very least, because a child has the right to be understood. AND heard. Respect, again, always. I don't believe in age discrimination. And I found out that children love and respect the most most those people who treat them like sensible, thinking individuals. A newborn baby human is already smart enough to know which people love him/her and which just pretend.
"The real 'bombshell' was when I told her (shortly after she married a great guy) that she was going to have a baby brother / sister :-)" Well, when your kids get married, you have the right to emancipate yourself and make your own life choices. Free at last! ;-)
I couldn't imagine growing up alone. Never. My brothers and sister enhanced my life. If it wasn't for my older brother my youth would have been a total waste. I love having siblings. Especially my older brother. He has always been there for me and protected me from the bullies and taught me so much. I am blessed beyond measure.
