Funny...I looked at it, really quickly, and saw...(are you ready for this?!) a dog! lol! I have boxers so...that's what it reminded me of and...I was straight as a whistle, when I looked at it! No psychedelic drugs for me! But...now I have been "awakened to...the food chain"?! WTF?! This dude is probably suffering from a bad experience of psychedelic drugs!
Alex's art is spiritual, profound, and sexy. And is unabashedly influenced by what he and his wife have experienced on psychedelic drugs. Eolake, if you haven't bought his coffee-table books, you have a real treat coming. He was painting simple nudes before you started collecting them -- and improving them with some medical illustration beneath the skin and some spiritual illustration from the heart. His daughter's conception, birth, and rearing are lovingly portrayed.
He and Alison are closing their gallery this month, to move it up the Hudson river to a new "Temple of Sacred Mirrors" that they'll construct. Offer them a donation if you want to help a pair of true artists realize their life's dream.
I too intend to make stories one day, complete with my own illustrations, and a lot of hidden images. Like that postcard curtain of yours... (I'm starting to perceive a theme here.)
Actually, maybe the vulva-like shape is intended. In India, the cult of the sacred Yôni and Lingam is a very serious and real thing. Their sexual connotation seems to be questioned on the current Wikipedia articles, but I've seen them both used in the Kamasutra, very explicit.
"not a curtain made of postcards!" Hmm, now there's an idea... And why not a postcard made of curtains? That one might enter the Guinness Book. No, to find me a sponsor. Best bet is to make a giant pixel-art postcard picturing a naked beauty, THAT should draw in the media coverage. Always does.
