What kind of girl

"What would you say if I offered you a hundred thousand to have sex with me?"

"Your place or mine?"

"Actually I have a cash flow issue this week. How does a hundred sound?"

"What kind of girl do you think I am?!"

"We've already established that, now we are haggling over price."

---------
Isn't it funny that most people would be offended if you offered them money for sex? Most of them already do things five days a week that they wouldn't do if they were not paid. What's the big difference?

  1. If the money was right, would you kill an innocent?

Most people do things that are boring or uninteresting, or tedious. Very few people are being asked to do things they were brought up to believe had morality issues. Working in Sainsbury's was not one of the cardinal sins, but prostitution has oft been flagged as sinful.

Of course estate agents and bankers seem to thrive on satisfying corporations over individuals.

Luckily, like yourself, I seem to have a job which feels more like a hobby than real work.

  2. I wouldn't kill an innocent, or even a guilty, for a million. But I'd go to bed with Robert Redford.

  3. You would go to bed with Robert Redford for a million ? What do you want the money for ? One additional million to whatever you are worth, believe me, the money won´t make you happier. At most the experience will give you pleasure for 30 minutes only if you are gay and like Robert Redford and the performance meets the expectations.

  4. Was the Redford? I was thinking it was someone else, maybe Paul Newman.

Question is, would you pay $1M to have sex with someone who looks like Demi Moore that you met in a casino?

I think that's the only film I've seen Billy Connelly in. I also had forgotten this film until about 2 days ago when, for no reason, I just remembered it.

  5. Still, comparing prostitution to killing for money is quite a stretch. These are hardly acts that are morally on-par with one another. If you can get paid to do something you'd at least slightly enjoy and someone is offering, why not take that person up on it? Sex isn't much different than any other service is, it's just the taboos that make it an issue.

As George Carlin stated so eloquently, "Selling is legal and fucking is legal so why isn't selling fucking legal?" The mind boggles.

  6. It depends on your upbringing. If you were brought up strict enough you would not see a huge difference, if both (sex and killing) meant say eternal damnation.

I would say now selling sex is less of a crime than selling something you know could hurt someone, as in defective goods or food that has gone bad.

If you were brought up not valuing life, but you did value chastity, then the equation tips the other way.

Killing is the extreme example (short of mass killing).

There is a reason I don't work in a factory or retail situation. There is a reason for not selling my body. They are just not situations I am comfortable in.

How many people would give sex freely if asked properly and politely, who would decline if offered money?

  7. "You would go to bed with Robert Redford for a million ?"

It's a reference to "Indecent Proposal" A big deal was made about doing just that. I don't see the big deal, it's a million, and Robert was still handsome at that point.

"Question is, would you pay $1M to have sex with someone who looks like Demi Moore that you met in a casino?"

    Nah.

  8. Nope, we havent established precisely what kind of girl she is.
It seems she's not a CHEAP girl. ;-)
Even a professional on Jerry Springer will resent being called a "cheap ho".

But the idea seems still widespread that everyone has his price.

Except... what is the price of somebody who puts certain things above the idea/perspective of "insane wealth"? Infinity?
    Does-not-compute.

"But I'd go to bed with Robert Redford."
Hoping that at his age he's impotent and forgot his Viagra? :-)

"Still, comparing prostitution to killing for money is quite a stretch."
I agree. Even worse than those ads promising to stretch your penis!
Dude, what ever happened to "make love not war", y'know?

Just saw a preview of a new movie with Sigourney Weaver coming out soon, about a sterile wealthy woman seeking somebody to carry her child. She goes to a specialized agency, and is told it costs a hundred grand: "Gee, it costs more to have someone born than to have someone killed!
    - Yeah, well, it takes longer..."

"Question is, would you pay $1M to have sex with someone who looks like Demi Moore that you met in a casino?"
I do believe the whole point of this "indecent proposal" was to show (flaunt?) that he could give away $1M without thinking twice, just to satisfy a whim. Hence displaying that disregard for "that kind of money", supposed to give him the supposedly irresistible attractiveness of the wealthy among the wealthy. Power is, and always was, the most popular aphrodisiac. Why do you think Bill Clinton wanted to become the most powerful man on Earth? So that über-sexy hotties like Monika would do it with him. (What do you mean, "objection your Dishonor"? Wasn't Monica drop-dead gorgeous? OK, whatever.)

"If you were brought up strict enough you would not see a huge difference, if both (sex and killing) meant say eternal damnation."
Well, I don't recall Jesus ever saying "all they that take to sex shall perish wth sex" in [Mat 26:52]
Sweet little death? I wish!!! ;-)

"If you were brought up not valuing life, but you did value chastity, then the equation tips the other way."
"Thank you, for saving me from a fate worse than death. [argl!]" - (Eric the Viking, opening rape and pillage scene)

"Killing is the extreme example (short of mass killing)."
Remember, my holy brothers: "Killing one in the dark of night is a mortal crime. Killing thousands in broad daylight is noble heroism."

"There is a reason for not selling my body."
How about renting it for brief periods of time, sweet-cheeks?

"How many people would give sex freely if asked properly and politely, who would decline if offered money?"
Consent betweent adults? Oh, the horror! You are deeply perverted, you are! STONE HIM!
(Pardon me? Why, of course I am without sin. Can't you see how jealous I am of people who "are getting some"? Now shaddup and lapidate, already. In the name of our God of Love. And hurry it up, we have a crusade at eleven.)

..."and Robert was still handsome at that point."
    AAAAH, o-kaaaay! This changes everything.
There's a thin line between an old disgusting pervert, and a very fine handsome gentleman.
How thin? Well, about thirty years.
You also need to have a good reason for going to bed with somebody. I'd say a million U.S. reasons should be enough. A slut is only one who will sleep around without any reason, just for the pleasure. Everybody knows that, d'uh! ;-P

    Eolake's appraisal:
"Question is, would you pay $1M to have sex with someone who looks like Demi Moore that you met in a casino?"
    Nah.

I fully agree. With that kind of moollah, you could find many babes as pretty but less famous, therefore much less demanding. You'd both save cash and gain variety of choice! :-)))

  9. I thought the point of that film "Indecent Proposal" was that there are some things that can't be bought. At the end of the film Demi Moore's husband has just paid $1 million for the soft toy, witnessed by Redford, and as his driver takes the highway out of the fair he asks Redford why he's leaving her behind. Redford replies, "I knew she would never look at me the way she looked at him."

I think the problem with prostitution is that it usually results in women having sex with lots of men over time, which is very bad for them - they get badly messed up by promiscuity.

  10. Love can't be bought, but he was not making a bid for love, just for a night of fun.

I don't think promiscuity is a good idea, but I don't see why it has to mess anybody up unless they let it.

  11. Who said anything about a film? I was thinking of Bill and Monica. ;-)
