Love and saccharine

It's funny, on the one hand universal love and beauty are to me obviously the most important things in the world, on the other hand when this point is made in just the wrong way, it makes me want to puke. I'm not really sure what it is.

  1. It's probably the trite way it's approached. It makes it seem like it's all warm fluff which demonstrates a misunderstanding of what these things are really all about.

Love isn't about specialness or feeding the ego. "You are who you are and I love you" is more beautiful to me than being told, "you are one of a kind, this world would be incomplete without you..." I say take your lips off my ass long enough to look me in the eyes and tell me what you really think. Sure, there are people who can make a difference, people who can have an impact on this world, and they need love and encouragement. Everybody needs some of that. But they need a balance; too much cotton-candy love makes your stomach ache and softens you up. Sometimes it's honest, most of the time it isn't, and where there's no honesty love is being perverted.

  2. Then puke, Stumblehorse, puke.
I've still to determine what this blog is about.
It seems to be a cross between "look what I've got - and it's better than yours" - and - your personal diary. Showing off your new iPOD and your new camera is great, but by all means, decide on a theme for your writings. Or call the blog "Ramblings and Blabber..."

  3. Wow Anonymous, you really overdosed on the crabby pills this morning. How about you do your blog the way you want to and let Eolake do his his way. Im sorry that they are forcing you, with Clockwork Orange-like style, to sit and read this blog. If only there were other blogs on the net for you to read instead.

and., "Stumblehorse"? what are you, 12?

  4. On behalf of all Anonymous blog posters I would like to apologise for our brother's nasty and uneducated comment.

    Kind regards,

    BPA.

  5. Not to worry. I can see how it can appear how he says, because there really isn't much of a theme here.
But I do always take care that only the occasional post is completely self-indulgent, I always attempt to have each one be *about* something which would be interesting to others. Not everybody, that's impossible, but at least others who have similar interests.

  6. You're such a mild-tempered person, Eo, you even know how to deal with my fellow monkeys.

But pleeeeze don't change anything as far as your blubber blog is concerned - not one thing, OK??!

Your blog is checked my me any time I go online! Your camera reviews inspired me to go digital! And the photos, and all the blubber stuff! Em, blubber? Ain't this whale fat?

Looking forward to more rambling and blabber....

  7. Eolake I like the variety in your blog and the fact I never know what I'm going to see in it (except the cameras which is understandable for a photographer).
