Drawn Together

From the very, very "adult" animated TV show Drawn Together, how to spout Asian gibberish. The show is far out, and often very funny. If you like South Park, you'll probably like it.
I wonder if all that is on the DVDs was also on TV. They actually have nudity (of cartoons, OK, but still). In the second season, including penises (peni?*), but interestingly, no vulvas. I guess society as a whole finds a vulva more offensive than a penis. (Note: most would erroneously call it "vagina", but that is the internal tube only.**)

Entertainment Weekly gave the show an F and said: "This is TV so bad, it's bad for you." You can't buy reviews like that.

*That's a joke, folks.
**Pedantic? Nah. Words are there for a reason. You wouldn't call a car a bicycle.

  1. If you want to be technical about it, the correct plural of "vulva" would be "vulvae", as it is a Latin word.

  3. Plural of penis, via Latin, would be penes ("peen-AYZ" or "peen-EEZ").

I haven't seen this thing. The blonde doing Ling Ling is super-hot, especially when she's spouting the gibberish. Better than DOMAI any day. I gotta take Eolake's linkage advice more often!

Abby Mcbride, apparently not a big name, but I think she will be.

  5. You know, as much as I love South Park, I can't stand Drawn Together. South Park is offensive, it's anything but subtle, but it's clever in how out-there it is. Often I realize that what seems so crazy as I watch it on tv is something I don't think twice about when it's happening in real life, and that just makes it all the funnier.

Drawn Together... It seems like it relies far too much on shock value for its humor, the jokes are obvious, there's no real subtlety or wit, just a bunch of cartoon characters being as obscene as the censors will allow them to be. There's certainly nothing wrong with that (as if there's a use in applying "right" and "wrong" to such works) but it's not my cup of tea.

  6. Now to make light of my own hypocrisy, one of my favorite flash animations is subject to the same criticisms I gave Drawn Together.

    This is the censored verion:

And for those of you whose ears have already been violently robbed of their innocence, the uncensored version:

I guess it just goes to show that whether you like or dislike something, it's rarely as rational as we make it out to be. ;)

  7. Quite right. :)

Personally I think Drawn Together is funnier. And it has tits in it.

    Granted, it's uneven.
