PitRok

Somebody recently asked me to expand the topics I cover, she was getting bored! :)
So how about this lateral move... into hygiene?! Bet you didn't expect that.

Here's a good tip I discovered myself, although others may have found it out too, it's not exactly quantum physics. (They used to say "rocket science", but I think these days many subjects are more complex than that.)
If you need to be deodorized for a whole warm day, add some deo spray to the inside of your (tee) shirt under the arms. It at least doubles the length of the effectiveness, pretty amazing.

Of course the problem is that many deodorants will stain or bleach your clothes. This fact makes for a nice seque into the next part, a product recommendation:

PitRok. It's natural, it's effective. I even like the scented version, which is unusual for me. The spray version is not as economic in use as the original "rock" (or the stick), but it can be used anywhere on the body.
They have an online shop for UK and one for USA.

  1. Hmm... shame you can't share a smell over a blog. Sight, hearing... but no touch, smell or taste...

    So I'm curious. :)

It's really weird (at least to me) how much a person's smell affects my opinion of them. A guy with a cologne /aftershave/deo that I like automatically gets more "points". Weird...

  2. Yeah, I guess it goes to the unconscious.

And bad BO is really a repellent. My gawd. Occasionally I will stand in line behind somebody who smells like they haven't bathed or deo'ed in at least days, and it's just abominable.

  3. Great name for such a product: PitRok. I used to use just grovel and sand, but I'll try this one on for size.

Oh, and I'm all for your lateral move. But don't get carried away. I recommend at the very least every 10th post should be about something else that hygiene products.

    That's all.

  4. Never worry, I have set a reminder in my calendar to post about something else than hygiene at least once a week.

    He looks well-endowed lol.
    Being naked is wonderful!

  8. Jillian! I knew you wouldn't really leave.

Just wait: next week a post about pet care. Or maybe one on non-proliferation in the far East.

Yes you were right. I love this blog and DOMAI. And I appreciate you changing posts once in awhile :) That's very thoughtful of you. I like what you have to say Mr Stobblehouse. You're a good fella!

  10. this post is too funny, Thanks Mr. Stobblehouse! Who would've thought of deod. or BO for a topic.

I'm with hannah on guys with certain cologne or scent. Very light scent is .... mmm hmmm.

Chris, a little kindergartner I work with, came in to school the other day with his own little stick of deoderant. His grandma (who's raising him) sent him in with it. I cracked up. I'm waiting for shaving gear.

On hot summer mornings I shower in the swimming hole behind my house. The sun comes through the woods, and the water is the color of amber. It is too beautiful. There is nothing like the clean feeling of being naked in wild water. Long live DOMAI moments.
Jillian, hannah, eo, anonymous's dad, pascal, ttl, feel free to join me in your mind.

  12. Remember though, just because something is natural doesn't mean it's good for you. Ever tasted a bitter almond? Do you know what that very distinct taste is? Cyanide. (Don't worry, it takes much more than a bitter almond to cause harm beyond your disgusted taste buds.)
Other unpleasant stuff are equally natural, like famous poison strychnine. (Here's a tip: the native tribes who use it to hunt have a way of deactivating it. They cook the meat in salted boiling water. And curare can be swallowed and digested harmlessly, it's only active through direct blood injection.)

But enough with the pleasant talk already. ;-)

Ookie-dookie, send me the directions to your back yard!
We have similar tastes: I ALSO shower naked. What a coincidence, eh? :-)
Say, do you have anything to do with Rico joining the Army?

This last one is bound to be a very long discussion. I've heard some people have been discussing it for 61 years, and they still haven't reached a conclusion!

This reminds me of a strange anecdote. Some French girls have an odd attitude. When I was attending University there, I would shave in the morning, put come cologne afterwards, and go to class, which was 15 minutes away on foot. In the morning breeze. When I got there, rather often, some girls -always the same- would complain: "Sheesh! You've showered in Cologne, or what? It's suffocating!" Well d'uh! It smells strongest right after you've put it. After the first time, I was careful to always use the least possible amount, but to no avail. They sometimes made me feel as if they would've prefered my smell to be glorious Eau de Armpit au naturel...
Besides, we were there to take classes, not fool around. If they wanted to socialize, we coud've talked after class four hours later, when the cologne had normalized, instead of them rushing home to study. But no, they wanted to finalize the first impression. :-P

Strangely, though, the natural body odor of a clean person feels unpleasant to us modern Westerners, which is quite un-natural. It's been documented that when one showers, after the deodorant has been washed away from the dedicated places, water reveals a "manly" smell, which remains even if you try washing, soaping and rinsing half a dozen times. It'll only disappear after drying. It doesn't wash off because IT'S NOT DIRT. It's the natural pheromones that are embedded in our skin and cannot wash away. This is why a police dog will find you no matter how many times you wash and change cosmetics. It's part of us, period.
It surprizes me, how our culture has taken us so far away from accepting our original nature. It's so strong, that even realizing that, I still dislike my normal clean smell before drying and deo. I believe the same goes for nudity: we have to lose some very strong arbitrary educational habits before accepting what's perfectly normal. Ironic.

Laurie, be right there. Then we can go to Jillian's back yard and meet her neighbor. :-)

I love a light scent. Especially in baby heads. :-)
Too bad some of my classmates never accepted that in order to have a light scent all day long, it has to be stronger just there in the beginning, or it can't last.

    Scott,
Sound and smart advice there. Thanks.
The alcohol in deodorant prevents the bacteriae from turning the normal skin secretions into something genuinely unpleasant. But, as experience shows it, deodorants will most always include added perfumes to cover the part of our smell which is normal.
