Lisa Ekdahl (And Sinead O'connor)

Lisa Ekdahl - Vem vet

Best Scandinavian pop song of the nineties. Wonderful stuff.

"Vem Vet" means "who knows" in Swedish. It's a love song. She sings: Is it a miracle we met, or was it always meant to be since long before we were born... who knows, I don't know, who knows, you don't know...

By the way, the video is beautiful too. I notice that some of the most artistically successful videos use the simplest means. The archetypical example of course is Nothing Compares To You. (I haven't seen this video in 15 years. Lord almighty, Sinead's face is amazing.)

  1. I agree. And the Sinead video looks just as strong today as it did 15 years ago.

What I would like to see, though, is a music video done in one shot and with no camera movement. I don't remember seeing any done like that.

I don't believe in random accidents personally I think everything and everyone meets people they are suppose to.
And when you fail at it then you put your pride back in the closet and continue to stroll down the lane of mistakes waiting to happen again.

  4. "tore up that cathlic guys picture"

Oh, you mean that guy in the white hat? In Rome?
    Whatzname, Paul? John? Ringo?

  5. I think Sinead's first record was by far the best. Most of her music since has been whiny songs about the cruel history of the Irish people.

  6. I once thought about forming a band called The Rhythm Method. First album was supposed to be called "The Pope Recommends ..."

  7. "Whatzname, Paul? John? Ringo?"

You mean his scene name, of course. Originally, that guy in robes was named Karol. But officially, he WAS a guy! Go figure...

So what happened? You thought it over and decided you'd rather stay alive? ;-P

No, the pope really does recommend the rhythm method. [1]

As to what happened, I just haven't gotten to this project yet. :-)

  9. Oh, yeah, a.k.a. "the grow and multiply method"!

I personally know somebody who was conceived in the middle of the red zone. Since his parents were NOT trying to "use the method" anyway (it's just something that happened), he's on this Earth today.
And a loved child too. Now, this is something wonderful whether a spiritual leader recommends it or not! :-)

Oh, but these folk stories about such children being redheads? It's bogus.
