Siouxsie and the Banshees


...But by the eighties I had cut way ahead of the pack. I don't think many of my original class mates were into Siouxsie and the Banshees.

I came to think of them now because of my neighbor and friend Christine. I always want to add "the strawberry girl" to her name.

Siouxsie and friends are/were Iggy Pop fans. Here they cover his song The Passenger.
And like Iggy, Siouxsie had big influence on bands that would become much more popular than themselves. Ever the fate of the avant-gardist.

    And your careless slang about "bible thumpers" demean truly born-again christians who care more about a person's soul than their appearance.

    I know that most Christians, as those of other religions, are good and tolerant people. I was referring to a minority who constantly uses religion as an excuse to judge and condemn others, even on such slight things as appearance.

    As a christian I have an interest in nudity, philosophy and photography. It depends on a person's heart with God not with what they neccesarily have an interest in unless it's totally ungodly or satanic.

    Well, I for one never mistook bible thumpers and mere religious Christians. No more than I mistake a Muslim and a terrorist, or a German and a nazi. There are communities, and alas there are extremists in all communities.

    Heck, some extremist pacifists have been known to become violent! Go figgyer...

    Oh Siouxsie...they were ahead of their time. To this day one of my favorite songs though is a cover they did of the Snake Song from the jungle book. Good stuff that.

    The new Snake song they made for the dancing Jungle Book videogame wasn't bad either.
