Did you ever see/hear the live, hard-rock Beatles version of Revolution? It's just the coolest thing. I really wish they had gotten around to make more hard rock.
I love Lennon's stone-face delivery.
I don't think this version was ever on an album, I think it's from a US TV show.
John Travolta has a theory that any person has a personality corresponding to one of the Beatles. Himself is "John all the way, baby".
Me, I would be Lennon. No doubt.
My only problem is, I can see how John is the intellectual, intense guy, and Paul is the charming, boyish type. But... Ringo? the... clown? And George, I have no clue.
Oh my God, I fucking love The Beatles! Lennon's one of my personal heroes(I actually dreamed I was him once). Thanks for sharing.

George is the thoughtfully spiritual Beatle. A searcher for truth, he found a truth that worked for him.

I recently bought the DVD "The U.S. Vs. John Lennon". About John's later years, his standing up to the U.S. Government, very powerful beautiful film. gave me goosebumps. I then proceeded to go out and get all of John's music.
A revival of sorts. Sent my son (19) all of it too. I thought the film quite timely, in a political way.

I am George. One listen to "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" would confirm it, if I didn't know.
I think anonymous' assessment of George above is absolutely correct. But since with the Beatles we need to squeeze all classic archetypes into these four main ones, George, in addition to being the truth seeker, also represents the wizard (or magus, or as Laurie said above, a mystic).
This version of Revolution was originally the 'B' side of the "Hey Jude" single. It was out well before the release of the White Album.

For me, I am not a big Beatles fan. Except for the White Album, which is stuffed with enough inventiveness to last 50 bands ten years.
