Just after sunrise.
I like light. In this picture there are five kinds!
1: the ambient light from the sky.
2: the sunlight hitting the tree at the top.
3: the reflected light in the window showing the sunlit building opposite.
4: the light hitting in big soft spots, reflected from the building opposite.
5: the still-lit street lamp.
Brilliant explanation, my dear Stoblock House! You're as bright as ever. That analysis was quite clear.
ReplyDeleteWhat remains quite obscure, on the other hand, is why a country like Lebanon, that's been rationing electrical power since the Seventies, keeps the street lamps lit in the middle of the day, no matter how brilig the sun is shinig. Is this jabber-whacky or what?
I guess they want to comfort the population: when there is electricity, by golly they make sure we enjoy it to the fullest!
All 182 glorious volts of it.
Remember, Sir, according to present standard of science, we suggest there might be an eclipse of the sun come to pass any time now, since this spectacular event is long overdue, according to our computing.
ReplyDeleteSo we recommend all street lamps to be lit during the day for the time being.
They may be put out for the night, however, we expect it to be dark anyway.
End of message.
