thanks for presenting those "merely pretty" picture series. They remind me and comfort me that spring is just around the corner and I'll soon be able to spend a good deal of my time in the scented air of the woods, clothed with only a rag, waiting for a fairy.....
I think "real art" is art that opens our eyes to something we might not otherwise see. Sometimes it opens our eyes to ugliness. Sometimes it opens our eyes to beauty.
How many people walk through these scenes and never see the beauty captured in these photos? Real art might bring pleasure or pain, but its purpose, I believe, is to make us more alive.
Perhaps it's the jadedness which comes from associating too much with those who work a lot more with pictures than the general population. (But are not advanced enough yet to appreciate the simple.)
