  1. June 6th '06 wasn't the end of the world. This has indeed ben a great year.

I also thank the American and Iranian people for their excellent recent display of democratic lucidity, which should help the world improve. Power to the people, indeed.

I've asked Santa for peace on Earth. He said it'll take many, many deliveries, but he's started already. ("Gotta warm up carefully!", he said Sunday night.)

Sweet perfumed musical colors to all. (Yeah, even the grumps. I bought the extra-large family package!)

  2. To Eolake and all the rest, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Thank you for letting me express my opinions and thoughts on your blog.
( And for doing a discussion on Loneliness and Divorce.)
Hey Pascal, got any pretty females that you could give me? I only need one to love, honor and cherish?
I thought since you bought the extra-large family package there may be enough for you one and me?
Best to you my Lebanese friend! May you get all you want and deserve in life!
If I were ever sick and needed a Doctor it would be an honor to have you as my healer :)

  5. I'm... Not quite sure what we're supposed to do at this point. Perhaps throw confetti into the air?

Yes, throw a party. A big party and celebrate the calming peace that is in Iraq today.
A new Iraq that glistens with prosperity and unity. Be thankful that America and the United Kingdom has "freed" the country from Saddam.
    Isn't forced democracy wonderful?
There's no need for santa when we have Georgie Bush. He is our gift-giver of freedom and stability!

Yeah, and you have a bridge to sell in Brooklyn too?

  7. Terry,
When I find the woman of my dreams (I've actually dreamt about her...), I'll be sure to ask her if she has a sister as nice as herself for my lonely but very nice friend.
But if I were you, I'd keep looking too, just to be on the safe side. :-)

    Nildar,
Impressive comeback there, man. You actually didn't say... well, you know what! (LOL again.)
If we didn't mention Iraq every other thread, this blog would actually be children-friendly. The 4-letter word most often mentioned around here is "love".

    Chocolate Head,
Considering I live in Lebanon, not in Iraq (that's SOME mess indeed!), I still consider myself fortunate, and you make a good point -in your sarcastic way-. Lucid Twilight was ALSO totally un-serious, on another tone. It's not his style to get the ground dirty with confetti.
It's true, not everything is rosy, some stuff IS a very bright red indeed (and not just Santa's suit, alas!). I just choose to look at the half full glass, because just a few months ago, its level was lower. I intuitively feel the last Iranian and American elections are globally for the better interest of the planet, and that Peace hasn't lost just yet. Time will tell whether I'm totally spaced out or not. :-\
To contribute to a more positive world, we have to think a positive potential. We can say "lots of things suck", or ask "what can I do to make things at least a little bit better?". The whole Afghanistan-Iraq-Lebanon-Israel-Sudan-Somalia thing NEEDS a global action. Bush and Ahmadinejad getting closer to the exit door are two steps -however small- in the right direction.

-excellent recent display of democratic lucidity
    -You said the secret word!

Hey, that's twice in a single comment that you said too much. Careful...

"You mean santa isn't an ultra-violent robot that punishes the naughty with expletives and gunfire?"
That won't be until the future-rama date of 3001, with the rogue Robot-Santa. You watch FoxTV too much.

"My! Where did you get this from? I'd like to order a dozen or so myself."
Just go see the king of Xanadu from my part. He'll give you a special deal on fairy dust, oniroses, iced cloud cotton candy and rainbow crystal melodies. He's in one of his synesthetic good moods this millenium.
Or, you and Terry could meet with me in King Zod's harem for Ney Year's Eve. Remember that backstage pass he gave me? Haven't used it yet. Nildar, you can come too. Heck, everybody's invited! "All these are my friends, they're with me."
    It's nice being a direct Zodlander. :-)

Sounds great to me Pascal! It would be an honor and a very nice thing I'm sure! Vroooom! (And I'll keep looking for that one special woman :)

  9. I don't celebrate Christmas myself, but thanks anyway!

Also, thanks for the entertaining and informative blog throughout 2006. I already look forward to the entries in 2007.

To everyone here, Merry Yule and a Happy New Year!

  10. "Preeeeetty... What was I saying?"
You were talking about how you don't care one bit for that many zeroes check you got for Christmas, and I had just very nicely accepted to relieve you from it. Don't mention it, you're welcome. (Puts dark glasses on.) Hey, look! My big fountain pen has a flashing pink light too! [FLASH]

Okay, back to Men In Blank HQ, ho ho ho!

Young man, there is nothing wrong with confetti, as long as one or two of the servants clean it up :)
It's just a wonderful tradition in many parts of the world.
Akin to throwing rice at newly weds and so forth :)

And to Hannah.........you are lovely and quite a delight! How I wish I could.........well nevermind

Yes Nildar from what we can partially see Hannah seems to be quite lovely. I'm curious why her photo is off center? Maybe she doesn't realize it?

Be thankful that America and the United Kingdom has "freed" the country from Saddam.

But who will free Iraq from George Bush?

It's nice having you as part of my kingdom.

  12. "Young man, there is nothing wrong with confetti, as long as one or two of the servants clean it up :)"
Precisely, Sire. Which implies that our lucid friend Lucid doesn't always have one or two servants at hand, right? (Or "left"?)

I also like that other wonderful tradition of throwing coins to the populace at royal celebrations.

It's so much better than the current trend in Iraq, to throw live grenades in a very un-merry way. Sometimes they'll try to throw grenades at Rice. Condolezza, that is.

"But who will free Iraq from George Bush?"
My money's on the american voters, 7 to 1.

  13. Judging by the last election I'd say the public is sick of Bush's antics. If things go really well he'll be impeached before the presidential election rolls around.
    (Lucid said)

I totally agree with you Lucid. He should be held accountable for his crimes.

It's so much better than the current trend in Iraq, to throw live grenades in a very un-merry way.(Pascal said)

Sad isn't it Pascal? I didn't know that certain cultures threw coins?
Quite interesting. I'd like to hear more about that if you have the time?

anything is better than a government headed by Bush and his fellow republicans. (Lucid said)

So true. This has been one very long nightmare indeed. I'm still surprized he's in office? My countdown clock says he has less than 754 days left.
I want to apologize to the countries that Bush has harmed. Not all of us voted for him. I hope the world understands that not all Americans are like the killing war-mongoring selected leader we have. My sons and I campaigned for Senator Kerry. We never wanted war either way.
We knew it was all about revenge and the oil.
And Pascal I pray that your country can somehow find the peace it needs. It takes quite the man to live in a country that has been tainted by bloody war and for you to endure all this and remain a compassionate physican who truly loves those around him.
Your gigantic heart and passion far exceeds most of what I survey in America. (American doctors, not all but many, are only in the profession for the money and status.)
Whatever happened to guys like FDR, TRUMAN, CLINTON, LINCOLN?
I still believe there is hope yet.

  14. "I didn't know that certain cultures threw coins?"
It's a jolly habit of kings and princes to remind the population to cheer when they visit. (Goes back to ancient times, before credit cards and social security.)
So much more efficient than what they use today in republics, those "election promises". ("Tax cuts to the rich?" Bleah!)

"I want to apologize to the countries that Bush has harmed."
Alas, it's not from YOU that we want apologies. Ah well, since Bushy Eyebrows will never make any, let's not be too picky(beggars can't be choosers!). Apologies accepted.

"My sons and I campaigned for Senator Kerry."
Good for you. Still, I think the Democrats made a fatal mistake by not choosing Wesley Clark in the first place. Flashy initials aren't everything.

" It takes quite the man to live in a country that has been tainted by bloody war"...
If you ask me, it takes quite the fool to remain there! Well, we'll see in less time than it takes for a moron to end his White House term. I've been considering Tahiti...

"Whatever happened to guys like FDR, TRUMAN, CLINTON, LINCOLN?"
Yeah, we could really use a true man in office right now. :-P
