Wanted...

In the late nineties a fan of Domai sent me some rubber toys. No, not that kind, they were for squeezing in your hand for therapeutic purposes. The where of hard rubber. One was a dark blue ball with small blunt spikes. One was a yellow ring, also with spikes. I lost them somehow during several moves. Does anybody know these products? (I think it was a very small company making them.)
I've seen softer balls, but what I liked about the one I had was that it was very hard, with short stubby spikes, which you could really squeeze into the palm to get a sort of deep massage. And it was maybe just 4 or 5 cm diameter.

Update: Thank you to Michael M who found it for me!

And by the way, my hands are fine, as is my general health. I just remember how good these things felt.

  2. Ah! Now I get it. I've been wondering where the drive for this ultra witty commentage comes from. THE COMPETITION IS STILL ON!

Oh well, can't really compete with these pun-slingers, can you? No, you can not.

    I'll create my own competition. The nerdiest commentator wins. ;-) Extra bonus points for dullness. (-;

  3. Ah, don't worry, snide puns are great, but they are not the only parameter which counts. :)

  4. It seems I forgot to comment on the actual subject of this post.

This 'random acupressure' idea sounds interesting, and the product does look intriguing. So much so that I would like to get one.

Eolake, a while ago you volunteered to distribute free copies of an e-book. Are we allowed to select this ball instead? ;-)

  5. TTL,

Actually, I had forgotten all about the competition, with the distraction of the war here in Lebanon (and the dramatic power shortage). I'm just in it for the fun.

"Why do it? Because I can!"

P.S.: Are you sure you want to receive this "ball-lonely"? Doesn't sound very serious...

  6. Pascal, the thing is, I pretty much have all the other products Eolake has been endorsing on this blog: Cinema Display, Nikon D80 (on order), Gillette M3 POWER, Tempura bed (on my list), etc.

All I'm missing are my balls ...

  7. You got balls, only those there of brass are only fun squeezing if you get somebody else to do it.

  8. Who is Snide Puns - a Dutch video artist?

I think it must be Eolake's stage name for his new career as a domestic videographer.

Somebody's definitely got more bucks than me. :-)

I used to have some ot them squishy gizmoes too, but my 18 months old nephew confiscated them with extreme prejudice, and then actually started biting in them! This was when I found out they actually have a damn pleasant consistency in the mouth. Not much taste though. Hmmm... Maybe the brass ones are yummier? But I'll need to work on my flexibility first (blink-blink, nudge-nudge). Squishing these is definitely off-limits! ;-)

I know, I know, this thread is clearly going downhill, all because of me. Didn't Snide Puns once make a rock 'n' roll song called Great Balls of Fire?

P.S.: Did anyone else notice that these letters we have to type in before we post look just like cartoon swearing? Am I the only one to find that utterly shocking? <:-o

  10. These ones are not squishy, they are hard rubber.

I think Blogger are overdoing the distortion of the lettering, I sometimes get them wrong.

  11. "Hard rubber", now there's an image...

I don't mind a hard rub sometines. Makes a nice change from the usual massage (a massage done with spiked balls, of course).
