They are so visually rich, and animation, whether flat or CGI, tends to look great in HD. Even the durn Simpsons looks good in HD.Eolake Stobblehousehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07126147415891586345noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16327517.post-11782237055724238772011-08-04T01:26:16.619+00:002011-08-04T01:26:16.619+00:00I didn't see Totoro until about 2002. Based on several 1-star reviews there's no Japanese audio for the thing.rondo hattonnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16327517.post-60709082669941632382011-08-02T16:54:22.495+00:002011-08-02T16:54:22.495+00:00I'm not much into anime but I too have seen My...I'm not much into anime but I too have seen My Neighbor Totoro as well as Akira which came out in the same year I think. I probably didn't seem them till 1990 or 1991. Still, I do think those are pretty well known. I know that Comic Book Guy types who are really into anime would scoff and say "Everyone's heard of _________, have you heard of _____________? Didn't think so!"Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16327517.post-26738507357389204362011-08-02T15:47:08.948+00:002011-08-02T15:47:08.948+00:00What are you talking about? It's one, along a few others like Akira or Ghost in the Shell, that are used as an intro to anime. It's the bare minimum.

Take it as a rule of thumb - if you've seen, read it, listened to it - then everyone has.

Although you like to think of yourself as an individualist, you're not.
