Thanks to A for finding this. Never mind the music, the video is so well done. Music recorded live, everything done in one shot, and the flying and filming is beautiful.

On the other drone shot there was comment on restrictions for drones. This will explain it http://www.smh.com.au/world/man-scalped-by-remotecontrolled-helicopter-20130906-2t9mm.html They are quite capable of killing someone.

ReplyDeleteHelicopters, yes. But they have way bigger rotors than drones.
> (By the way, the drone's shadow has to have been removed digitally, otherwise it would have shown when it has the sun in the back and a performer's head above the horizon, it's standard perspective rules about vanishing points.)
ReplyDeleteActually, no. The drone doesn't cast its shadow parallel (tangential ...) to the ground but about 30° downwards just as everything else. You don't see the sun behind the performers' heads when it's looking in the opposite direction, either.
Mmmm, looking at it again... I was thinking of the 30 degrees downwards, but I think I may have gotten them a bit mixed up with the normal horizontal perspective.
