We live in a society where a little girl can claim offense just to get someone in trouble in school for drawing a picture of "blowing up the school."

With Kindles, Nooks and the like and the iPod I wonder.

I wonder if the people in this society will stop reading books, enjoy nature, spend time by themselves, think independently, or have meaningful conversations. Instead, they will all drive very fast, watch excessive amounts of television on wall-size sets, and listen to the radio on “Seashell Radio” sets attached to their ears.

What next? Perhaps a fire department that burns books we live in a society that already has special-interest groups and other “minorities” objecting to books that offend them. We have people offended by speech, so why not.

I know where to find the renegade intellectuals (book readers, free thinkers) in a small mountainous community. If I go there, I hope to find a free spirited young lady (older too) like Clarisse. Hopefully, we can all view Domai from there.

If you missed it, I am referring to Ray Bradbury's epic novel Fahrenheit 451.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16327517.post-12886136991679280512012-03-28T09:45:14.375+00:002012-03-28T09:45:14.375+00:00LOL!
